Scabs in Ears? You’ve Never Tried This!

Scabs in Ears? You've Never Tried This!

To admit, OUT LOUD, that I have been dealing with ear infections for 6 years and no one knew about it, including my husband, is kind of weird.

I never thought I’d be talking about this topic, because I thought of myself as super healthy, while simultaneously feeling extremely dirty while living with this issue.

The bottom line — I was embarrassed to open up to anyone about it.

But here it goes.  In this article I'm going to tell a story.  My story.  A story of illness and how I overcame it.

Currently, I consider myself as a very healthy 51-year-old woman.

Cardio-kickboxing is a big part of my life, and I go five days a week. I eat a mostly pescatarian and plant-based diet, and I'm am on an excellent program of supplements, adaptogens, and herbal elixirs that have kept my perimenopause symptoms at bay ‘almost’ completely.

I say ‘almost’ because I can be a little moody at times.  I’m sure my husband would agree.

With all that said, for the last 6 years, I have been dealing with chronic infections in my ears. The infections started when I was taking Bikram yoga classes 5 days per week.  Bikram is a style of hot yoga where you sweat about a ½ quart in 90 minutes.

Well, during this sweating experience, sweat would regularly drip into my ears. Hair products would drip into my ears. The bacteria from my fingertips trying to wick the dripping sweat out of my ears would get into my ears.

Looking back, a sweat band might have solved the problem.

The short of it, I got an ear infection.  The ear infection ended up getting worse and worse because as a natural healer, I was determined to solve it sans drugs.  I oozed from my ears on my pillows at night for one year straight, because I was convinced that I could solve it through a raw plant-based diet.

On days that I only ate raw plants the infection lessened.  And if I had a slip up in my diet, with a grain day, or too much sugar, the infection worsened almost immediately.

FYI:  my condition did not get as bad as this photo.  My infection was deeper inside the ear.

It almost became a game to me, to see how I could control my infection with my diet.

I tried internal antibiotics, oil of oregano, high doses of ginger, tons of garlic, loads of turmeric, olive leaf extract supplements, diluted tea tree oil in the ear canal, hydrogen peroxide in the ear canal, Mullen’s garlic oil, homemade magnesium salve, you name it, I have tried it.

Finally, I opened up to my mom about the infection.  I admitted to having this terrible condition for a year.  I admitted to having puss filled, wet ears for an ENTIRE year.

She recommended I go to urgent care and get antibiotics.

You have to know my mom to understand how significant this recommendation was. My mom is not an advocate of antibiotics, AT ALL.  But the situation was dire.  She reminded me that when you have an infection for that long, it can lead to other health issues.

So, I went to urgent care.

Unfortunately, because of the progression of the infection, I had to get on oral antibiotics and antibiotic drops for the ears as well.

I was not happy about this.

Antibiotics can really mess up the microbiome in your gut and it can take a long time to get your gut back to normal after a round of antibiotics.  Between the antibiotics and the drops, the infection went away.

It didn’t take long before the infection came back though.  I found myself itching the inside of my ears with my fingers or using a Q-tip to alleviate the itching in the ears.  I’m sure using my fingers to satisfy the itch led to bacteria in the ear and the cycle of infection started all over again.

Five years later, it leads us here and now.

I have had infections in my ears for the last five years since taking the antibiotics.  The infections have not been as bad, because I have learned that if I control some food categories the inflammation and itching are lessened.

I still itch.  I still bleed.  I still deal with scabs in the ears.  I scratch at the scabs.  The scabs bleed more.  And the cycle continues on and on and on.

So, here is where the story gets interesting.

My friend and client, Sally, told me about this product she was using to heal an issue she was dealing with.  I thought nothing of it.   She mentioned it again and I was genuinely pleased for her and told her, “amazing, you’re healing.”

It hadn’t occurred to me inquire any more about what she was using, because I was FIERCELY IGNORING my ear infections.  I hadn’t even considered telling her about my dirty little secret.

When she continued telling me about her success using this product on some recent bruising she had from a fall, I finally broke down and admitted to her about this embarrassing ear issue.

She said, “I happened to have brought you a sample for you.”

“No way,” I exclaimed.

“Yes way,” she replied.

DAY #1 Ears infected as usual.

I started using it in my ears the day she gave it to me.  I noticed a difference the first time I used it.  The itching was greatly reduced.  There was a fair amount of oozing that went on that night, more than normal, and I attributed it to the moisture of the product.  It is a gel.

DAY #2 Light Ear Infection.

I wasn’t sure it was working when I woke up, I still had some itching and I had to wipe the moisture from my ears. My ears still ached, as they always had, but a little less.

I used the product two times on day two.  I started to notice some significant changes by the end of day two.  The itching was hardly there.  The moisture went away.  And the scabs started to turn into fine crystals and were flaking out of my ear.

DAY #3 Ear Infection Nearly Gone.

I used the product three times on day three.  Normally it always hurt to lay my head on a pillow unless I was face up.  On day three, when I went to bed, there was no pain to lay on the side of my head.  My hearing started to get better.  I suspect the scabbing was blocking the passage.

DAY #4 Ear infection GONE.

Today is day four. I have used it twice today so far, and the infection is gone. There are no more scabs.  There is nothing to ooze.  The itching has gone away, my hearing has been restored, the entire situation is GONE.

And it appears to be too good to be true.

If you are dealing with scabs in your ears, which I believe for me was psoriasis in the ears, then you might want to consider this alternative.  I’m not a sales expert for Asea, I only got a sample of the gel four days ago.  If you are dealing with anything like I was dealing with, I can tell you how to get the product if you want it.  Send me an email, if you want more info or if you want to get the gel.

It’s a game changer.

I can’t make any medical claims as to its ability to cure anything, including ear infections.  All I can tell you, is that it has worked for my ears.

If you want to know more about this product, i would be happy to help you.

We have to keep growing, and sometimes that means stepping into what feels uncomfortable. Thank you for your lovely feedback.

It is through facing our adversity head on that we can also help others to face theirs. It is in our time of weakness that we are made strong, a light on a hill pointing to others, so they too can know that there is a way. It is often that we normalize a condition thinking that it has been there so long, or that this is how life is going to be, that we define ourselves by it. Thank you for stepping out of the boat and helping others to have the inspiration that the other side is always there if they to step out and walk across the water to take a hold of it. Much kudos to you SLB.

I appreciate your supportive stance on a difficult subject. You are right, I was completely immersed in normalization. I had just accepted a level of dysfunction, as if it were normal. NO. It is a serious health condition that CANNOT be ignored. Thank you for your light Nicholas.
